UK cherished number plates

Car Marks have been established since 1969, and have unrivalled knowledge and experience of the cherished car number plate industry in the UK.

When registration numbers were first issued on vehicles, they did not have a letter to represent the date, as they do today. These were known as dateless British registration marks, and are the original car number plates in the UK. They are also of the greatest value, because the letters come before the numbers in the combination.

An example of a cherished car number plate would be SUE 69, although some cherished car number plates can have only two letters, and one to three numbers.

Another kind of cherished number plate for is the reverse dateless registration, where the numbers come before the letters, i.e. 69 SUE. These reverse number plate configurations are of slightly less value than the registrations where the letters precede the numbers.
